Here’s my next edition to my Tunisian Crochet Flower Series. My sunflower.
The scientific term for the sunflower is ‘Helianthus Annuus’.
It is grown for several reasons, one of which is for the use of wild bird food. However, the most common is to bring colour to our gardens.
I remember many years ago, both myself and my mother in law had a competition to see who could grow the tallest sunflower! Of course, she won! She was an expert at gardening and looking after plants. She always new the best time to prune, what soil suited what plants and so on.

I’m really enjoying designing these flowers. They are always a challenge but very rewarding when they work out. I think this is my favourite so far!
I’m now ready to write up the pattern. I might decide to do it as a YouTube tutorial or a CAL which may be easier for you to follow if you want to have a go at making one…
What would you prefer? A written pattern or a YouTube tutorial?
